MILLIONS of Tesco shoppers are urged to check their Clubcard accounts today before their vouchers expire.
If you’re the type of customer who always has lots of old vouchers at the bottom of your wallet, you might still be able to claim them.
But the vouchers expire two years after the date they were issued.
This means that customers must use coupons first issued in July 2020 before the end of this month, otherwise they will be invalid.
The exact expiry date of these vouchers is therefore Sunday 31 July.
Tesco vouchers are issued to customers who earn points by purchasing items and using the supermarket’s Clubcard.
For every £1 spent in-store or online, you receive 1 point, or 1 point for every £2 spent on fuel.
And if you manage to rack up 150 points, you’ll even receive a £1.50 voucher.
Vouchers can be used towards other grocery stores or with Tesco, Live Prezzo or Zizzi partners.
Vouchers can also be used online and in stores to save money on your cart or fuel.
They can also be redeemed online with Tesco’s reward partners, such as Pizza Express or Cineworld, increasing the value by up to three times.
You can redeem the coupons online on the Tesco website or use the app.
This means a £10 voucher could be turned into £30 with a number of partners including Chessington World of Adventures and English Heritage.
Log in to the Tesco website or app to check the expiry date of your vouchers.
How can I extend my Clubcard vouchers?
Money saving expert (MSE) Martin Lewis explained that Tesco customers can extend the use of vouchers they have earned through the Clubcard loyalty scheme.
By simply making a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards website, you will get the remaining points credited to your account.
For example, if you buy a 50p voucher with one of Tesco’s partners, such as Pizza Express, you will get a £1.50 voucher to spend in the restaurant and the rest of your points will go back to your Clubcard for another two years .
So if you had £10 worth of points and you buy a 50p restaurant voucher, the remaining £9.50 will return to your account instead of expiring.

How does the Tesco Clubcard work?
Clubcard vouchers are collected when you scan your membership card at the Tesco checkout.
You get one point for every £1 spent – or one point for every £2 of fuel – and 150 points equals a £1.50 voucher.
It’s better value to spend vouchers with one of Tesco’s reward partners, but you can also spend them on supermarket shopping.
Points are worth up to three times as much when redeemed with one of the supermarket’s partners.
Shoppers using their Clubcard can also get discounts on selected items.
