The program provided S $ 130 million in CDC digital vouchers to all Singaporean households was launched on December 13 of last year. It was part of a S $ 900 million household support program announced in Budget 2021.
MORE THAN 1 MILLION HOUSEHOLDS REQUESTED VOUCHERS
More than one million Singaporean households have claimed their S $ 100 CDC vouchers in the first month after launch, according to the press release.
The number of participating hawkers and heart merchants has also continued to grow, with over 12,500 participating outlets to date.
More than 90 percent of these companies have received voucher transactions from the CDC, Chairman of the Committee of Mayors Low Yen Ling said.
“CDC, working with our partner agencies, is improving the user experience of the CDC voucher program ahead of the holiday season, as the number of Singaporeans claiming and spending their CDC vouchers increases,” she said.
Ms Low said authorities were also “very encouraged” that Singaporeans are supporting hawkers and merchants of the heart, with more than S $ 28 million in vouchers spent to date.
For ‘less digitally savvy’ residents who need help on how to claim and spend their vouchers, as well as hawkers and core merchants who don’t know how to use the Redeem SG Merchant app, they can do so in community centers, Resident Committee Centers and Residents’ Network.
“CDC ambassadors and local volunteers remain on hand to provide personalized advice,” the press release said.
Interested hawkers and core traders can visit the CDC Coupons website to register their interest, and a CDC Ambassador will contact them within the next two weeks.
Residents have up to one year, until December 31, 2022, to claim and use their CDC vouchers.
