Rebates of $50 are now available in Kwinana Town for existing CCTV systems to register with Cam-Map WA.

In a WA first, the City of Kwinana has partnered with WA Police to offer $50 rebates when local businesses and residents register existing CCTV systems with Cam-Map WA.

Cam-Map WA is a secure database that shows the locations of voluntarily registered CCTV systems across WA.

“The City of Kwinana CCTV Rebate Program aims to increase the number of private CCTV cameras recorded through the WA Police Cam-Map system to provide additional intelligence in the investigation and prevention of crime,” the Mayor said. Carol Adams.

“It will also increase the level of communication and reporting from the community to WA Police.”

Other local governments, like Karratha, have offered discounts for new CCTV systems while encouraging registrations with Cam-Map WA, but this is the first time that discounts have been offered to incentivize system registration. existing CCTVs.

Knowing the locations of installed CCTV systems will help WA Police in investigations.
