Refund me if you can challenge players to beat it before Steam’s refund policy expires


Sungame Studio has exactly one game available on Steam. It’s called Refund Me If You Can, and it’s a game that specifically uses Steam’s two-hour refund time frame to entice people to play it.

The game is extremely simple. You play as Sarah, who has a nightmare where she is trapped in a sewer-like maze with a terrifying monster. According to the game description, the maze has more than 100 different paths, but only one will lead to salvation.

To help potential buyers, Sungame offers some tips. First, you can draw a trail of glow sticks to track your progress. Second, beware of environmental hazards such as collapsing soils. Pay attention to the things written on the walls and don’t be afraid of a few trash bags or car tires if they stand in your way – you can just move them. Finally, don’t get caught by the scary monster. Sungame specifically mentions that 45 seconds is too long to spend in one location, potentially indicating how long it will take the monster to find you.


The biggest challenge in paying me back if you can seems to be how dark it is. You can barely see a few feet in front of you, let alone a long winding sewer pipe. The monster itself isn’t that scary either, and he seems to have problems with the stairs.

There’s a timer in the top right corner of the UI that keeps track of how long you’ve been playing. It starts as soon as the game is started, so it will be accurate for refund purposes. Refund Me If You Can also starts with a call for players not to refund the game unless they actually beat it before the two-hour timer expires, although there’s nothing really stopping you from asking for a reimbursement before the end of these two hours, whether you escape the maze.

For those unaware, Steam allows full refunds for any game as long as it hasn’t been played for more than two hours and less than 14 days have passed since the original purchase. If both of these conditions are met, you can simply go to the Steam support page, find your previous purchases, and then request a refund by clicking on the game you didn’t like. Steam will ask you why you are requesting a refund, but this is just feedback to the developer.
